Good Morning Britain has a new face with Gordon Smart joining its ranks.
The reporter made his official series debut on Dec. 29, joining Charlotte Hawkins at the desk to go over the day’s news.

Announced earlier this week, Smart shared a photo from behind his desk and continued writing Chirping: “I can’t wait to make my hosting debut [GMB] this thursday and friday with [Charlotte Hawkins].
“I told my dad about the new concert and he said ‘better get a spray tan, son.’ Good, see you soon at 6:00, 29 and 30 December. Good morning Great Britain!”

Who is Gordon Smart?
Born March 31, 1980, Gordon Smart is a Scottish native with an established career as a journalist and journalist.
Smart began his journalism career at the Evening Telegraph and the Dundee Courier and studied journalism at Napier University in Edinburgh.
After working as a football manager, he then moved to London where he would work for The Sun and News Of The World in 2003.

He had been promoted to deputy editor of The Sun in May 2016, but left the paper entirely by the end of that year.
He has since joined the radio business, hosting the weekday evening show on January 17, where he remained until 2020 when he left the series due to ill health.
He has also worked for the drive time show talkRADIO and has a podcast with Line Of Duty star Martin Compston, Restless Natives.
Smart has been married to his wife since 2003 and together they have two children: son Jimmy and daughter Laurie.
What has been said about Gordon Smart joining Good Morning Britain?
Good Morning Britain has announced that Smart will join the lineup as lead presenter on 27 December.
“I am thrilled to be joining the amazing stable of talent, in front of and behind the camera, on Good Morning Britain,” she said at the time.
“Many of the issues facing the country right now are close to home and I am relishing the chance to join the debate.”

Joining Charlotte Hawkins, his first episode on Dec. 29 saw him admitting his nerves upon joining the panel, saying he had “first stay-at-school” vibes.
“I hear you are the smart girl in school and I’m copying your homework. I think I spelled your name by mistake!” she joked.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
