The 2023 Oscars trend was the year of floral dresses on the red carpet – WWD

With Sunday’s 2023 Oscars in Los Angeles wrapping up award season ahead of spring’s invitational, the stars chose to wear ensembles that have blossomed.

A number of celebrities have incorporated floral designs, accessories and themes into their outfits, including Yara Shahidi, Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman arrived on the red carpet at the 2023 Oscars in a dazzling ensemble, wearing a custom Giorgio Armani Privé black sequin gown with 3D floral touches at the shoulder and thigh. Designed by Julia von Boehm, Kidman’s one-shoulder gown also featured a thigh-high side slit.

Halle Berry

Berry went for an ethereal look on the red carpet, where she arrived in a high-slit gown with glittering rosettes detailing her neckline and leg. Her dress was designed by Tamara Ralph. She opted for a short haircut, wearing an asymmetrical bob with honey-blonde highlights.

Iris Apatow

Iris Apatow arrived at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a glittering number, wearing an orange sequined Colin LoCascio gown with colorful 3D floral accessories. Apatow, who recently starred in Netflix’s ‘The Bubble’ will also star in the action thriller film ‘Ballerina Overdrive’.

Yara Shahidi

The former “Black-ish” star wore a vibrant Bottega Veneta dress from the brand’s Spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. It was adorned with delicate floral appliques. The strapless gown also included a white petticoat and a pair of fiery red work gloves. Shahidi collaborated with her longtime stylist Jason Bolden for her after-party look.

Suki Waterhouse

At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Suki Waterhouse did great. The actress wore a silver sequined Elie Saab dress. She made a stunning statement when she incorporated her own flowers, with a large matching flower adorning her chest. She coordinated the mermaid-style backless gown with a pigmented red lip.
