No me voy to ninguna parte aunque Alemania sea elimination in first round, says DT Flick

RAYÁN, Qatar, Nov 30 (Reuters) – German entrepreneur Hansi Flick told the leagues he was not expected to lose world tetracampeones if they compete in the Copa in the group stage for the second consecutive edition.

Flick, who took over the past year’s charge from Joachim Löw’s 15-year-old at the front, saw his crew make their group E debut ahead of Japan before recovering from a 1-1 draw with Spain thanks to a goal in the last minute.

Los alemanes were eliminated in the first round of the 2018 Mundial, at that time his earliest elimination in more than 80 years.

“I can confirm it (that I quedaré) from my side, but I keep it against until 2024 and I hope the Eurocopa at home (in 2024), aunque queda mucho tempo hasta entonces”, dijo en route de prensa.

Alemania needs to derotar Costa Rica’s youngsters to have opportunities to advance to the round of 16.

A victory over Costa Rica, who lost 7-0 in their debut against Spain, combined with a victory for the “Roja” against Japan, les daría el pase junto a los españoles.

Without an embargo, an agreement between Spain and Japan in another party, or even a victory for the Asians, will get the score on the goal difference.

“Queremos acabarpronto con el partido”, dijo. “Ellos (Costa Rica) will be on the defensive for sure. We need to do it and we need to keep the attitude we show against Spain”, said the DT.

Only Costa Rica held a shot on goal in two games, but it was enough to win Japan.

“Si miramos la tabla, Costa Rica holds posibilidades de pasar a octavos de final. Un empate, y una victoria de España, les basta para Avanzar”, dijo Flick. “Espero de Costa Rica a defensive implementation as lo hizo contra Japón (…) Tenemos que encontrar soluciones contra eso”.

Depending on the result of the other party, the classification could be reduced to the goal difference, and the Great Victory of Spain over the Central Americans gives them ventaja in Alemania.

Scoring more goals in Costa Rica than in Spain is not an option for Flick.

“Creo que sería una falta de respeto hacia Costa Rica hablar de marcar ocho goles”, dijo. “We’re happy if we keep him and that’s our goal. But we understood that overcoming this 7-0 and offering such defensive activation against Japan is only respectful.”
