by Netflix UK kicks off 2023 with an entertaining selection of films, including the intense gothic thriller The Pale Blue Eye. Directed by Scott Cooper, it unites a detective played by Christian Bale and a young cadet named Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling). Yes it is That Edgard Allan Poe.
Elsewhere on the film front, Rob Lowe leads Dog Gone – about a father and son who bond on a hike to find a missing dog. There’s also a new comedy film from Black-ish creator Kenya Barris in the form of You People, which counts Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy in its ensemble cast.

When it comes to TV, the leading offering is Lockwood & Co., a crime thriller series from Attack the Block director Joe Cornish, adapting Jonathan Stroud’s book series. The titular company consists of three teenage ghost hunters who think nothing of taking on the deadliest of spirits.
