As the new year begins, Prime Video UK is unleashing some of its heavy hitters. Al Pacino is back in the lead role of the drama series Hunters—despite his fate in season one—and there’s once again a morally dark revenge for the Nazi hunt.
On the movie front, the main offering is Jennifer Lopez who shows she can be an action hero as she dons a big white dress in Shotgun Wedding. Elsewhere, the likes of Mortal Kombat and Judas and the Black Messiah are streaming.

New TV shows coming to Prime Video UK in January 2023
The Rig (all episodes from January 6)
A collection of great British actors, including Line of Duty’s Iain Glen and Martin Compston anchor this mystery thriller series, set on an oil rig miles away in the North Sea. Things start to go awry when a fog cuts off their contact with the mainland, leaving them stranded in their hostile work environment, only to make matters worse when a horrific accident occurs.
Hunters S2 (all episodes from January 13)
Al Pacino returns for the second and final season of this drama series, which centers on a group of Nazi hunters in the 1970s. Pacino’s character will figure as part of a dual timeline story given his death at the end of season one, while the show will also deal with the rather huge twists and turns of the season one finale. It’s fair to say that there were some big swings, which kept this from being just another historic show.
The S2 test (January 13)
Streaming services have really grown to love fly-on-the-wall sports documentaries and this one, returning for its second season, follows the Australian men’s cricket team. It focuses on the 2021/22 trial season, including a clash with England and the end of a 20-year spell in which they never traveled to play Pakistan on their own soil.
The Legend of Vox Machina S2 (January 20)
Based on the hugely popular Dungeons & Dragons web series Critical Role, this animated show for adults is back once again. This time, Vox Machina is forced to try to save the world again when a threat emerges from the Chroma Conclave: a terrifying group of dragons.
Nate Bargatze: Hello World (January 31)
After two stand-up specials for Netflix in recent years, Nashville-born comedian Nate Bargatze is bringing his latest performance to Prime Video. Recorded on a 360-degree stage in Phoenix, Arizona, this new special is another showcase of Bargatze’s recognizable material.
