What is Uruguay’s record in the World Cup?

Uruguay have won the World Cup twice, beginning with the inaugural tournament in 1930, when they beat Argentina 4-2 in front of home fans at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.

They also won the 1950 World Cup in Brazil, their first tournament since winning the trophy in 1930, when they beat the hosts 2-1 in the Rio de Janeiro final.

The last time Uruguay went since the semifinals in South Africa in 2010. They finished fourth in that tournament after losing third place in the playoffs to Germany.
