by Julia Roberts honored her longtime friend and co-star, George Clooney, by wearing a custom gown covered in images of the actor.
Roberts attended the Kennedy Center Honors at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC this weekend to take the stage to talk about Clooney, 61, who was receiving one of the honors.
Other recipients included composer and conductor Tania León and the band U2. The center annually awards a select group of individuals for their artistic influences on American culture. This year’s ceremony was attended by US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

For his gown, Roberts, 55, and his stylist Elizabeth Stewart commissioned Moschino designer Jeremy Scott to design the custom black suit with framed images of Clooney, including one of him and Roberts together on a carpet red. Stewart later shared an image of the gown on Instagram with the caption: “#JuliaframedGeorge.”
Other images on the Moschino satin dress featured Clooney as hers E.R character, Doug Ross, photos of the actor as a young man, and an image of Clooney accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2015 Golden Globes.
Roberts and Clooney are longtime friends, with the pair first starring together in Of the ocean Eleven in 2001. Two decades later and now they have starred in six films together, the latest being the 2022 romantic comedy, Ticket to heaven.

Roberts was the first to pay his respects to Clooney at the ceremony, followed by his father Nick and fellow actors Matt Damon and Don Cheadle.
Clooney attended the award show in a black tux with his wife Amal Clooney, 44, who wore an off-the-shoulder red Valentino dress with matching cape and clutch.
During his speech, Clooney said, “Growing up in a small town in Kentucky, I never could have imagined that one day I would be the one sitting on the balcony at the Kennedy Center Honors.
