Vardy Versus Rooney: A Courtroom Drama
21:00, Channel 4
This year’s Wagatha Christie trial will be in the history books. The story of Rebekah Vardy’s libel suit against Coleen Rooney — with her in-court dissection of Peter Andre’s chipolata and analysis of how to argue with a pigeon — hardly needs embellishment to be great entertainment. And so, this two-parter uses the real transcripts for a glorified reconstruction. But with Natalia Tena and Chanel Cresswell as the warring Wags, and Michael Sheen clearly enjoying himself as Rooney’s lawyer, oh how glorious. The first episode hears Vardy’s side of things, while tomorrow’s concluding part has Rooney referencing memes as evidence (including one of the two women’s Photoshop faces on Scooby-Doo characters). Outsiders
10pm, Dave
This fun, albeit Taskmaster-adjacent series of challenges concludes with some more insane outdoor activities. Phil Wang and Fatiha El-Ghorri find a way out in a plumbing challenge. And a dummy of the host, David Mitchell, is buried in a variety of delightfully morbid and occasionally downright sinister ad hoc funeral ceremonies. Have fun. Phil Harrison
Rosie Molloy gives up everything
10pm, Sky Comedy
Rosie Molloy (Sheridan Smith) is coping with her father’s death using her usual nauseating chain smoke cocktail, cheap jokes, wine and other failed attempts to get clean. Perhaps, when reality arrives at her funeral where they throw peanut M&Ms on her father’s coffin (she had a peanut allergy), she will be prompted to make a real change? Or not. Human resources

Also looking for permanent homes (and lots of Christmas treats) are wily fox terrier Ziggy and a friendly staffie-cross named Winston. Graeme Virtue

Beauty and the Beast (Bill Condon, 2017) 2.45pm, BBC One
“Beauty is found within,” is the sensible message of Bill Condon’s unashamedly romantic live-action version of the fairy tale, though it helps if your fiancé turns into Dan Stevens at the end. Emma Watson brings Hermione’s practicality (and a decent singing voice) to French bookworm Belle, who bonds with her furry captor over a shared love of literature. Ewan McGregor (candlestick), Ian McKellen (clock) and Emma Thompson (teapot) provide comic relief as animated appliances, while Be Our Guest, with its Busby Berkeley style, is the standout number on the soundtrack.
