Hollyoaks’ Juliet Nightingale to reveal truth about cancer diagnosis in Christmas episodes

It’s been a rough time for Juliet Nightingale on Hollyoaks lately, and it’s about to get more exciting for her this Christmas season.

In last week’s episodes, Juliet was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and the time has come for her to reveal everything to her closest friends.

In scenes that air from Monday (December 19), Juliet will undergo her first chemotherapy treatment, but is initially reluctant to reveal the news to her friends and family.

With Juliet conflicted about her feelings for both Nadira and Peri, she tells each that she is considering making things right with the other.

On Christmas Day, both Nadira and Peri are eager to find out why Juliet has been lying to them, causing tension in the village.

Knowing she has to tell them the truth, Juliet arranges a meeting with Peri, but Nadira arrives and argues with the latter.

With a cacophony of noise surrounding her, Juliet blurts out her diagnosis, leaving the arguing couple initially stunned.

Peri, however, doesn’t believe a word of it, accusing Juliet of lying before angrily storming off. Nadira is much more understanding and offers to support Juliet through this difficult time.

Enlisting James’ help, Nadira urges Juliet to confess to her mother, but she’s torn between sharing the news at the Christmas table…

Actress Niamh Blackshaw recently opened up about Juliet’s arc, saying she’s “grateful and appreciative” for the response to the storyline.

“There was a massive response — I was really surprised and taken aback,” she said. “Sometimes you forget how much the characters are loved by the fans. I was delighted to receive such a huge response and am really excited to see how this all plays out.

Hollyoaks airs first on All 4, with new episodes dropping every weekday morning. The show airs Monday to Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 7pm on E4.
